Group 1: English

Palmer High offers two different options within Group 1: IB Literature, and IB Language and Literature

IB Literature 1 & 2, taught by Scott Baker and Mrs. Livingston, is a two-year, higher level class that includes classical/world literature, modern novels, poetry and a variety of other texts. These courses focus on developing students' ability to read, write and think critically about all genres of writing.

Assessments include the Individual Oral (IO), a world literature essay, and two written exams.

IB Language and Literature, taught by Ms. Kuzina, can be taken as a standard level, one-year course during a student's junior or senior year. The course introduces the critical study and interpretation of written and spoken texts from a wide variety of sources including novels, song lyrics, advertisements, and artwork.

Assessments include an Individual Oral Presentation (IO), and two written exams.
